Earlier, the ROK and the DPRK agreed to hold a summit meeting between the ROK and the DPRK at the "Peace House" on the Korean side of Panmunjom on April 27th. This will be the third summit meeting between the ROK and the DPRK.

Before that, the two sides will hold a working meeting on the 18th to discuss the protocol, security and news reports of the summit. Earlier, on March 29th, the ROK and the DPRK held high-level talks to discuss the topics of the summit and the agenda of the working talks. On the same day, the chief representative of the ROK attending the talks was Zhao Mingjun, Minister of Unification, and the head of the DPRK delegation was Li Shanquan, Chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Korean Motherland.

The South Korean Unification Ministry official said that the ROK and the DPRK will focus on denuclearization, the establishment of a permanent peace mechanism and the sustainable development of ROK-DPRK relations at the summit. Regarding whether the release of Korean citizens detained by North Korea is included in the agenda of the inter-Korean summit, the official said that the South Korean government is also paying attention to this issue and making efforts to this end.

Revealing the "Peace House", the venue of high-level talks between the DPRK and the ROK

The "Peace House" on the Korean side of Panmunjom on the Korean-Korean border is famous. From 1989 to 2015, there were many high-level contacts between the DPRK and the ROK, and working talks on the reunion of separated families and the operation of Kaesong Industrial Park were held here. There is a "Peace House" and a conference area. The conference area is mainly for holding military talks between the DPRK and the ROK, while the "Peace House" is mainly for dialogue at the civil level. The high-level talks between the DPRK and the ROK will be held in the "Peace House".

In order to facilitate the meeting, the "Peace House" has been rebuilt. Now there are three floors here, one is the VIP room, the other is the meeting room and lounge, and the third is also the meeting room.

Small cameras and microphones are placed inside the conference room, and Seoul and Pyongyang can confirm the talks in real time.

On the North Korean side of Panmunjom, there is also a unified pavilion similar to the "Peace House", and representatives of the DPRK-ROK talks can wander between the two buildings when holding a meeting.
